Chapter One: The Creature

Heavenly perched on a whimsical branch, the celestial creature absorbed the Wisdom of the Universe. Known as Fibica to the Source, the secretive being motionlessly accepted Grace. Humbly disregarding its unique importance, Fibica was yet to enlighten another unsus­pecting soul.

In profile, from the top of its hat to the tips of its furry tails, the bizarre immortal appeared to have a somewhat rounded fish head. The curious pate was more circular than a pike’s but it was too elongated to be that of a bass. It clearly resembled a fish poll but nothing quite exactly of Earth.

The fishy head mysteriously attached itself to a somewhat husky, winged figure that was partly feathered, scaled and furry. The body’s caboose was adorned with two substantial appendages, similar to thick, Persian-cat tails.

Clearly, in substance, the creature was one being; nevertheless, one couldn’t help but notice the nuance of three separate, animal-like entities. The mystical flow of Fibica’s unique presence from one subtle form to another looked so amazingly seamless that it was difficult to accurately discern where one animal’s features began and the other’s ended. With each brief second, the strange torso’s lines of demarcation gently moved ever so slightly. The creature’s delicate energy streams metamorphosed its physical appear­ance.

To an unenlightened observer, one perceived an odd, ever-changing fish-bird-cat being that was constantly exhibiting subtle, wave-like transformations though never leaving its pre­carious perch. The incredible creation’s three, supple, leg-ending claws remained com­pletely wrapped around the tenuous branch, keeping Fibica wonderfully balanced as the delicate energy vibrations alluringly impacted an onlooker’s amazed senses.
